Free ice cream, you say? 👀🍦
is opening its 100th store on April 20 in Rocky River. The first 100 guests at the 19935 Center Ridge Road location that day will receive free ice cream for a year.
The official ribbon-cutting with the Rocky River Chamber of Commerce will kick off the celebration at 11 a.m. The event will include raffles, music, games, magic, ice cream, and more. Handel’s is an Ohio legacy. The first Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream opened in Youngstown in 1945. Today the company has franchises in 11 states and plans to open more than 40 new locations in 2023.
“Ohio is the home state for Handel’s, so we are incredibly proud to expand the sweet legacy here in Rocky River,” said Morgan Rubin, General Manager for the Rocky River Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream. “I live and breathe Handel’s, having grown up with the brand. My family opened the Niles Handel’s in 2000 and I worked there when I was younger. I love what I do and am thrilled to help grow the brand that started in my hometown.
Stores offer 48 flavors daily with more than 140 flavors that rotate seasonally. The Rocky River store will feature local fan-favorite flavors including black cherry, buckeye, coffee chocolate chip, graham central station, oree-dough, salty caramel truffle, and more. The location will offer dine-in, pickup, delivery, and catering. It will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
