There are also new Pokémon present in Ryme City, such as Generation 8’s Galarian Darmanitan, which was abundantly seen in promotional materials.
How You Can Catch Up With Detective Pikachu’s Story Before The New Game In addition to that, for players who are interested in catching up with the events that led up to Detective Pikachu Returns, Nintendo has released a “the story so far” video on the official Nintendo UK channel on YouTube. The short video explains how Detective Pikachu and Tim Goodman became partners in the first place and how they were connected to the main plot of the first game.
The issue is that Harry Goodman is still missing in the story of Detective Pikachu Returns. As such, even if the main plot of the first game involving chemical R and berserk Pokémon has been solved, a series of strange events will be uncovered in the new game. They are still connected to the disappearance of Tim’s father, which was set up in the previous title.
