Whether on the merits other people should have been indicted: Yes, possibly, but they weren’t. The point that we try to make is not “Ooh, Trump should be exonerated for the good of the country,” blah, blah, blah. It is because there’s a judgment call to be made.
When you say “every single bloody time,” this is the first time a former President has been charged with a federal crime.You may be right, but I wanted to understand how we would attribute blame for it not being the last.
Right, but, look, you cannot control what people think. Are his diehard supporters going to believe that a case in Georgia is just as bad as Alvin Bragg, and just as bad as Jack Smith, and just as bad as the Russia hoax? Sure, they are. And let us be also fair, one of the reasons that they believe that is because of the Russia hoax. So that’s No. 1. Again, it’s an opportunity for Biden.
