A manhunt is underway in Ensley after shots were fired at Birmingham police officers during a chase.
A call for all possible assistance went out after 10 p.m. Wednesday.
According to police radio traffic, shots were fired at West Precinct police with at least one bullet striking the windshield of a patrol vehicle. No injuries were reported. At least three males are believed to have bailed from a stolen Toyota. They left behind a rifle in the middle of the street and either masks or some kind of head gear.Police have set up a large perimeter in the area of Pike Road, Ensley Avenue and surrounding streets.
