Shoprite recalls 400g cans of pilchards in tomato sauce

A problem with the packaging has been cited as the reason for the recall.

JOHANNESBURG - Consumers who have recently purchased 400g cans of pilchards in tomato sauce from the Shoprite Group need to return them.

The warning comes from West Point Processors, the manufacturing company that works with the Shoprite Group.The recall will affect Cape Point, Saldanha, Shoprite's RiteBrand, Checkers House brand, U-Brand and Ok House brands. Consumers who are in possession of a can of the product starting with the codes ZST2 and ZSC2 need to return the products.
