Sea has a long history of collaboration with Google, which has been hosting online games of unit Garena’s Free Fire on Google Play. “AI is the next big technology revolution, and we believe that it has huge potential to positively transform our business and create value in our markets,” Forrest Li, chairman and CEO of Sea said in aon Thursday. “This partnership with Google on AI will drive innovation in the business application of the technology at scale, and allow us to make AI more accessible to the digitally underserved in our markets.” Google and Sea plans to deploy AI to boost productivity in Garena’s game development and operations. The partners will also develop a robust and secure payment platform for Monee, Sea’s fintech services provider. “By combining Google’s AI leadership with Sea’s innovative ecosystem, we’re building products that don’t just solve today’s challenges but define the future of gaming, commerce, and financial services,” Sanjay Gupta, president for Google Asia Pacific said.In December last year, Sea also partnered with OpenAI to speed up the use of AI in the region. In the first phase of the partnership, Shopee VIP subscribers were given complimentary access to premium services of OpenAI’s ChatGPT.list of Singapore’s 50 Richest that was published in September 2025. He launched Sea in 2009 together with cofounders Gang Ye and David Chen . In 2015, Sea rolled out Shopee in Singapore, which has since become a major e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia.
