Workers were able to raise the alarm
Workers at a convenience store in Kettering were held at gunpoint during an armed robbery. But the offender fled the scene empty-handed after one of them alerted the police.
The suspect entered the Tesco Express on Queensway between 10.35pm and 10.45pm on Wednesday, March 8. He headed straight to the tills and threatened a member of staff with what is believed to be a handgun. The worker was able to raise the alarm with another employee in the shop, who called Northamptonshire Police. The offender then fled the scene and he is not thought to have stolen anything.Officers investigating this incident are now appealing for local businesses and residents to check CCTV, doorbell, or dash-cam footage to see whether they have inadvertently captured the offender prior or after the incident.
A spokesperson from Northants Police said: "Witnesses to this incident or anyone with information is asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101 or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111. Incident number: 23000144429."READ NEXT:
