Multiple agencies are responding to a shooting at Wilmer-Hutchins High School in southeast Dallas on April 12, 2024.
Police sources told WFAA that one student was injured and a suspect in the incident, also a student at the school, was taken into custody around 11 a.m.
The injured student was expected to be OK, sources told WFAA. According to Dallas Fire-Rescue officials, the victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. "Police are on site to ensure our school remains secure," Dallas ISD officials said in the statement."At this time, we ask everyone to refrain from coming to the campus, as we limit access inside."
