Two people were shot in the parking lot of a movie cinema in the Chapel Hill neighborhood in Akron.
AKRON, Ohio — A 20-year-old woman was killed early Sunday morning and a 22-year-old man was wounded in a shooting outside a movie theater in the Chapel Hill neighborhood, police say.
According to police, the male victim was talking on a phone inside the Regal Independence just after midnight when he got into an argument with another unidentified person. When the man and woman left the theater, they were shot while in the parking lot, police say. The woman was taken to Summa Akron City Hospital but died of her wounds. The man was taken to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center and was in stable condition, police say.
Police so there is no information available on possible suspects. The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office has not released the identity of the woman.
