DEVELOPING: San Jose police officers are investigating a shooting near San Jose State University that left one person dead.
San Jose police are investigating a fatal shooting near San Jose State University early Sunday.
Police are investigating the shooting that has at least one victim north of San Carlos and South 4th Street, which borders the university campus. In addition, San Jose police officials said an officer responding to an incident at 2:44 a.m. at La Victoria restaurant shot a suspect who was pointing a handgun at another person.
The officer shot the suspect at least one time. The suspect's injury is not life threatening, police said.
