The shooter behind a street ambush remains on the run four years after a man was shot in the face and a 12-year-old girl was run over. The incident took place in Croxteth, as part of escalating gang rivalry. The girl suffered serious injuries but is now recovering at home.

In 2020 two people were arrested, which included a 19-year-old man from Liverpool who was held on suspicion of attempted murder, possession of a firearm and ammunition and Section 18 wounding. Another man, 28, of no fixed abode, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Six brave mums came together to lift the heavy vehicle off the girl and said how the driver, who was blasted up to three times, remained at the scene briefly to check on the 12-year-old before running off, he also told stunned bystanders: "I've been shot."
She was in the nearby Croxteth Gems youth club with her aunt when she nipped out to go trick or treating. Police also confirmed that they seized a second vehicle, a Ford Kuga, on Blackwater Road, as part of investigations into the incident.
