“He’s having to relearn how to write again,” said Cassandra Ware, the 7-year-old boy’s mother. Parker County Sheriff’s deputies charged a 49-year-old woman in connection with the dog attack.

A 22-year-old University of Texas at Dallas student was left ‘permanently and catastrophically’ disfigured after two dogs she was dog sitting attacked her at a Coppell home in December, according to a lawsuit.Lorena Parker, 48, lives on the corner where Conner’s bus stops — next door to his house.

The dog dragged Conner and seemed to be taking him back into its yard, Parker said, when she finally got it off.In that moment, she said, she just wanted to “get the dog off the baby.” She gets embarrassed being called a “hero” because she did what she hopes anyone else would have done. “If it had been a few seconds later, the doctors said that my son wouldn’t be here today,” Ware said. “He would not be running around. ... He would’ve been gone.”

“It’s just the right thing to do,” Malewiski said. “Little boy mauled by dog did not feel comfortable going outside and needed a place to feel safe.”
