Debuting in 2013 on BBC One, Shetland is set on the eponymous Scottish archipelago and follows the men and women of the local police force who investigate crimes that disrupt the sleepy community.
Steven Robertson As Sandy Wilson Sandy Wilson is the native Detective Constable on Shetland whose intricate knowledge of the community often helps with solving crimes, and he is played by Steven Robertson. A star of both the big and small screen, Robertson is instantly recognizable from his turn as Francis Throckmore in Elizabeth: The Golden Age and he played the role of Trevor in the action film Survivor.
Erin Armstrong As Cassie Pérez Erin Armstrong joins the Shetland cast as Cassie Pérez, Duncan's biological daughter who is actually much closer with her stepfather, Jimmy. Armstrong appeared as Catriona in the series River City, but found her greatest success when she joined Shetland. She appeared as Mackenzie in the series World's End and as Cherish in Millie Inbetween, and got to show off more of her dramatic side as Hectorina in Rillington Place.
Lucianne McEvoy As Meg Pattison Meg Pattison is an end-of-life care nurse who grows close to Jimmy as she assists his father in his final days, and she is played by Lucianne McEvoy. While joining the Shetland cast is McEvoy's biggest role to date, she also appeared in the action film Dead Shot as Vet's Wife, and starred as Miss Wilson in the critically acclaimed short film Blackwool.
Stewart Porter as Billy McBride - Stewart Porter appears in the Shetland cast as Billy McBride, a local police officer who assists on cases. Porter is best known for playing Kenneth in Valhalla Rising, and Gordo in the classic drama series Finney. Jimmy Chisholm as Alec MacBay - Alec MacBay is a Shetland local who finds himself tied up in the case during season four, and he is played by Jimmy Chisholm. Chisholm's most recognizable big screen role came when he played Faudron in Mel Gibson's Braveheart, and he also starred as Wamba in the 1997 adaptation of Ivanhoe.
