Salmon is back on the sidelines as head coach at TCPA
Sherika Salmon is a Detective with the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and a former assistant girls basketball coach for Trenton Catholic Academy. She is now the head coach at Trenton Catholic Preparatory Academy. There will be a familiar face back on the Trenton Catholic bench next season.
“Trenton is my home,” Salmon told NJ Advance Media on Tuesday. “This is where I’m from. I grew up in the Trenton school system. And for me, this one is personal. It’s the reason why I left the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office to come to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office - because I wanted to make that impact at home. Coaching is the same thing. I wouldn’t go anywhere else without making that impact in my own community first.
Both Salmon and Fusik resigned following the 2021 season with the uncertainty surrounding the school after it stayed opened and rebranded without the Diocese of Trenton. Salmon stayed on as an advisor to help with the transition.
