As we continue to track heavy storms and flood watches Thursday morning, Shepherd ISD says it will be closing its campus.
Local News– As we continue to track heavy storms and flood watches Thursday morning, some school districts announced they will not be having classes because of the severe weather .says we have been tracking extremely heavy rainfall north of I-10 this morning. Some areas around Lake Livingston have seen over 10″ of rainfall overnight. This is causing major flooding concerns as this same area saw nearly a foot of rainfall earlier this week.
In a social media post, Shepherd ISD announced it expects more rain coming and therefore it would be dangerous to bring students. As a result, the district has closed its campuses for the safety of students and staff members.KPRC 2 will continue to update the list of additional schools that have announced delays, and closures as more information becomes available.
