Rascal thought he had been adopted and spent an entire week with his new owner before they made the heartbreaking decision.
A shelter dog who thought he had finally found his forever home has been left 'sad and confused' after being returned to the center.Rascal the dog has spent the past two years without a home to call his own. He was one of 32 dogs abandoned by an Orange County rescue at a boarding facility in Rowland Heights, California. With options limited, the owner of the facility was preparing to send Rascal and the other dogs to a local shelter, where he would have faced an uncertain fate.
'It all surprised us because Rascal settles better than any of our other dogs and likes to sit with you,' Redline said. 'He can be really playful and likes to chase toys especially on the flirt pole but gets less interested in toys by themselves. He's a great hiking partner and walks really well. He makes a good companion in general.
