Kota Kinabalu: Shell membatalkan rancangannya untuk menutup 34 stesen minyak di Sabah menjelang Januari tahun depan, susulan siri perbincangan dengan kerajaan negeri, menurut kenyataan Jabatan Ketua Menteri Sabah di sini pada Selasa.
Ketua Menteri Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor dalam kenyataan sama berkata kerajaan negeri mengalu-alukan berita baik itu.“Kami telah bawa isu ini ke perhatian kerajaan Persekutuan. Kami hargai cakna dan keprihatinan kerajaan Persekutuan terhadap situasi di Sabah,” katanya.
Menurut kenyataan itu susulan daripada pengumuman Shell mengenai rancangan penutupan tersebut pada Jun lepas, Hajiji telah bertemu dengan Pengerusi Shell Malaysia Siti Hurrairah Sulaiman untuk membincangkan perkara berkenaan.
