Lottie is well-known among friends for her hatred of fast fashion and will happily call out friends and family who support it

A former fast fashion addict who saves £300 a month buying her wardrobe in charity shops admits she now calls out friends, colleagues and people at parties for shopping 'unethically'. Lottie Lashley says she fell into a 'fast fashion addiction' as a 'coping mechanism' when she went to university, spending £100 per month on new clothes.

"And then I looked into the ethics of fast fashion five years ago and I realised how un-environmental it was. I realised I needed to use my skills with social media to share my love of sustainable fashion online. "It's not about shaming people, but there's so many things second hand on Vinted and Ebay we can be consuming too. Lottie has been charity shopping since she was a teen, and has now amassed so many items her wardrobe is 80 per cent second-hand.

"There's only so far I'm willing to educate people because I have a lot of resources on my page. It's not my job to make people see sense all the time." "I used to really feel like I had to conform to high street trends, and when I wore second-hand fashion I really found my style. Especially as a lesbian woman, I felt like I was conforming to really feminine standards, and now you would read me as a feminine woman, but I have a really unique sense of style because I am consuming stuff that is second-hand.
