Exclusive: Pom Klementieff discusses Mantis' growth in GuardiansoftheGalaxyVol3 and how she has gained confidence after telling Peter the truth about their family ties:
Pom Klementieff explains how Mantis has grown in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 since telling Peter Quill that they are siblings. Mantis met the Guardians in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 while being used by Ego to sleep, but she eventually helped them destroy the monstrous being and joined the team. After joining the team, she helped them protect the universe, bonding with Drax and Peter after telling him about their shared father.
Klementieff spoke with Screen Rant about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. She discussed Mants' growth and how she gains confidence as one of the Guardians. Klementieff also revealed how Mantis holds the team together, especially with her abilities as an empath. Check out Klementieff's full quote below:

She's kind of the glue that keeps the Guardians together, by being an empath and caring for the others. And also, she gets to kick ass! She evolves, she's unapologetic, and she stands up for herself.
Peter Accepting Mantis Helps Her Step into Her Power in GOTG Vol. 3 When Mantis was first introduced, she was a bit of a mystery, full of nervousness and using her empathic powers to soothe Ego to sleep. Although she was clearly scared of him and hiding something from the newcomers out of fear. After helping them defeat Ego when it was revealed he killed his countless children and Peter's mother, she became a part of the team but still held back.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special was a major turning point for Mantis, as she went on her own adventure with Drax and gained a brother. It seems like Mantis will step into her power in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, fully finding her place within the group and in her relationship with Peter. Mantis being unapologetically herself began with her friendship with Drax, but her boost in confidence likely comes from a feeling of security.
