A Harrisburg School District elementary school teacher has been charged after allegedly pushing a 5-year-old student, causing the child to fall into a desk and cut their face.

Police started investigating Nov. 26, 2024, after getting the case from a CYS case worker, who said the 5-year-old victim disclosed she had asked to go to the bathroom when her teacher said no and pushed her, according to a criminal affidavit.Police spoke with the child’s mother, who reportedly said when she asked the child if it was true that Holbert pushed her, the child replied, “Yes mommy. She pushed me with two hands when I asked her to go to the bathroom”.

One of the nurses interviewed said the child suffered a 5mm cut to the face, right outside her right eyebrow, according to charging documents. The injury caused blood to run down the girl’s face, the nurse told police.
