The release date for the Shaun of the Dead has been revealed in honor of the 20th anniversary of the iconic horror movie.
“There comes a day in every man’s life when he has to get off the couch…and kill some zombies,” reads the official synopsis. “When flesh-eating zombies are on the hunt for a bite to eat, it’s up to slacker Shaun and his best pal Ed to save their friends and family from becoming the next entrée. Satisfy your bloodthirsty appetite with the movie that masters of horror and film critics alike are hailing as a screamingly hilarious zomedy that will have you dying with laughter.
The 2004 movie was directed by Wright, who co-wrote the screenplay with Pegg. It serves as the first installment in Wright’s Cornetto trilogy, anthology action comedies led by Pegg and Frost. Shaun of the Dead was followed by 2007’s Hot Fuzz and 2013’s The World’s End. The cast also included Kate Ashfield, Lucy Davis, Dylan Moran, Bill Nighy, Penelope Wilton, Jessica Stevenson, Peter Serafinowicz, and Rafe Spall.
