Sharon Osbourne is quarantining at home after her three-year-old granddaughter tested positive for COVID-19.
The legendary rock manager and wife of Ozzy revealed the news on Monday's season 11 premiere episode of."I don't have it," Osbourne said, telling her fellow panelists that she had intended to join them in the studio but that the illness suffered by her son Jack's daughter forced her to stay home.
"She's okay, she's okay, she's doing good," Osbourne added when her co-stars expressed sympathy, adding that neither Jack, his wife or their other children are infected; Sharon did not mention whether Ozzy had been tested or if he is quarantining with her."It just goes to show you -- she's three years of age -- that children can get COVID.
Osbourne's point about children also being impacted by COVID-19 -- which has killed more than 200,000 Americans and infected over six million -- came on the same day that Pres. Trump erroneously claimed at a rally full of maskless, not socially distanced supporters in Swanton, Ohio, that the virus"affects virtually nobody" younger than 18.
“It affects elderly people, elderly people with heart problems and other problems. That’s what it really affects,” Trump said. “In some states, thousands of people — nobody young. Below the age of 18, like, nobody. They have a strong immune system, who knows? Take your hat off to the young, because they have a hell of an immune system. But it affects virtually nobody. It’s an amazing thing.”
