A week later, with the Sharks’ season over, Kostin was back inside the arena, watching the Oilers, his former team, play Game 1 of their first-round playoff series against the Los Angeles Kings. Kostin even had his No. 21 Oilers jersey draped over his shoulders as he was shown on the arena’s center-hung scoreboard during the third period. Seeing that he was on camera, Kostin, per Daniel Nugent-Bowman of The Athletic, smiled and laughed as Oilers fans cheered.

Caught on camera, he smiled and laughed.Kostin had a career-high 21 points in 57 games for the Oilers during the 2022-2023 regular season, and later added five points in 12 playoff games as Edmonton advanced to the second round of the playoffs.
