San Jose Sharks and goalie Mackenzie Blackwood have come to terms on a two-year deal
It appears the San Jose Sharks and goalie Mackenzie Blackwood have come to terms on a new contract.
Blackwood and the Sharks have agreed to a two-year contract worth approximately $2.5 per season, Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff reported this morning, just minutes before Blackwood was set to become an unrestricted free agent at 9 a.m. . Blackwood was acquired by the Sharks from the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday for a sixth-round draft pick this year. But Blackwood, then a pending restricted free agent, was in need of a new contract. Although Blackwood was not given a qualifying offer by the Sharks on Friday, the two sides continued to talk about a new contract and were reportedly able to get a deal done.
