A group of shareholders is countering Tongaat's JSE listing suspension request with one of its own, saying the board's decision is"detrimental" and"reckless".

On Friday, analyst and Tongaat whistleblower Dave Woollam said a consortium of minority shareholders, led by Artemis Investments, was in the process of filing representations at the JSE. The consortium's move follows the troubled company's announcement earlier that day that it had requested a temporary listing suspension from the JSE.
