Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Housing and Real Estate Developers Association (Shareda) is now authorised to complement the Government’s initiative on building affordable housing and supporting ancillary development at an identified 70-acre site along Jalan Sulaman, near here.
Published on: Thursday, May 16, 2024Chua said some landed housing units would also be built on the 70 acres in the proposed 120 acres for M40 people whereby each landed property may cost about RM600,000 but can be sold at RM500,000 to the M40 people, especially first or second home buyers, to help them own the houses.
“We have about 155 members, and only 57 turned out. Whereby 55 voted in favour of both motions while one is spoilt vote and one is not in favour. This result is democratic,” Chua said. “This initiative involves Sabah Housing and Urban Development Board and Sabah Urban Development Corporation . “First, we propose to have such development covering 120 acres and the 70 acres inside the proposed 120 acres. We must have a proper master plan and once we receive an architect report, we will submit to the Sabah Government and the Chief Minister for endorsement,” Chua said.“Furthermore, we often hear about illegal tapping of water supply and electricity there, apart from actually sitting on swampy land and a lot of peat soil.
