SAPD Chief William McManus posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Friday of Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley wished the officers well in their recoveries.Shaquille O’Neil and Charlie’s Barkley send well wishes to our SAPD officers wounded the other night while handling a suicide call. Barkley also shared his well wishes to the injured SAPD officers. He said he knows they have the “toughest job in the world.”SAPD officers were called for a suicide in progress call in the 18700 block of Stone Oak Parkway on Wednesday.McManus told reporters during a press conference around 10 p.m. Wednesday that four officers were shot while responding to the call. In an update at 2 a.m. on SAPD’s Facebook page, McManus said that number jumped to seven. The officers were transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.SAPD identified the following officers who were shot by Brandon Poulos, 46, a Navy veteran who was out on bond at the time of the shooting.SAPD Officer Dean Rosetta, 4 years of serviceSAPD Officer William Perez, 5 years of serviceA report released Friday by the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office states that Poulos died from multiple gunshot wounds.
