The emergency services are currently at the scene

A section of the Shankill Road has been closed following a collision between a police vehicle and a car.

The emergency services were called to the incident shortly after 10pm on Saturday, June 24, with the West Belfast street being closed between Dover Street and Agnes Street. It has been alleged that the police vehicle was responding to an emergency at the time of the collision.The ambulance and fire services have joined police at the scene.A PSNI spokesperson said: "Motorists are advised that the Shankill Road is currently closed between Dover Street and Agnes Street due to a road traffic collision involving a car and a police vehicle which was responding to an emergency. Please avoid the area and seek an alternative route for your journey.
