SUNDAY MAIL EXCLUSIVE: Some Might Say a health secretary shouldn't buy Oasis tickets while taking part in an Alzheimer’s disease panel.

Health Secretary Neil Gray has been branded shameful for admitting he was trying to buy Oasis tickets during a panel discussion on Alzheimer’s disease during the SNP conference.

The discussion organised by the University of St Andrews centred on the impact of neurological conditions affecting the brain and how scientists in Scotland could work together on technological advances. A member of the audience watching the discussion, alongside a Sunday Mail reporter, said: “There was a murmur of nervous laughter when Gray spoke. A health secretary saying he was trying to buy tickets for a gig when he should have perhaps been listening to what was being said is poor.

Saturday’s fringe event featuring Gray was discussing a “game changing” new drug to slow the progression of early stage Alzheimer’s disease. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community!
