San Francisco could see up to four inches of rain this week
San Francisco ’s sunny start to the week will give way to heavy rains and gusty winds as an atmospheric river is expected to descend upon the Bay Area on Wednesday.
San Francisco’s initial bout of wet weather is expected to last through Thursday night, though the weekend could bring an additional 2 inches of rain to The City thanks to lingering showers in the region. Hoang said temperatures will warm up as the system progresses. Daytime and overnight temperatures are expected to hover around the mid-50s by Thursday.
Under the program, San Franciscans are able to get up to 10 free sandbags from DPW’s Operations Yard at Marin and Kansas Streets on Mondays through Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Proof of residency is required to obtain a handful of the 12,000 bags the department has on hand.
