St. Francis Fountain has been a fixture in San Francisco for more than 100 years. The business is expected to transfer over to its new owner by July.

“We just don’t feel good about not being able to give it that level of attention [that it needs],” Kazarian previously told SFGATE. “We want someone who can be there every day getting to know the customers and taking it to the next level.”

The St. Francis Fountain sale took a huge price cut from its previous $350,000 asking price to $170,000, the Business Times reports. The sale is expected to include the St. Francis Fountain Type 41 liquor license. The BLT sandwich is one of the specialties at St. Francis Fountain in San Francisco on June 30, 2022. The storied diner will soon be under new ownership.St. Francis Fountain first opened in 1918 under the ownership of James Christakes, an immigrant from Sparta, Greece.
