A trio of restaurateurs earned Michelin stars for the first time in their careers, while other eateries retained or gained an addition to their coveted ratings
Three San Francisco restaurants received their first stars from the Michelin Guide earlier this week, while one local eatery gained a second star and another kept its three-star rating.
“We’re honored to have received our first Michelin star, which affirms our vision and acknowledges the dedication and hard work of our incredible team,” she said. “Looking ahead, we are excited to continue creating memorable experiences that capture the joy and comfort of sharing a meal with loved ones.”
Notable dishes include a reimagining of an elementary school breakfast that features French toast sticks served with Rice Krispies ice cream and cinnamon-sugar fig-leaf caramel, as well as duck-leg karaage and avocado “toast” in which sweet potato is substituted for the bread. “Rather than operate with starchy formality, servers show a level of charm and graciousness that is as infectious as the cooking itself,” they said.

“It is a true reward and testament to our team’s hard work and dedication to providing the best possible experience,” said Cheney, who was named California’s 2023 Young Chef of the Year award and worked in Sweden prior to his stint in The City.
