Junis says his first start since June 10 hamstring strain will come Monday in Arizona; La Stella (COVID) to begin rehab assignment Friday.
LOS ANGELES — As the Giants opened the second half of their season here Thursday, one locker was noticeably present in the visitor’s clubhouse while one was absent.
Crawford spent the All-Star break a short drive from here, in Newport Beach, so he consulted with head trainer Dave Groeschner and set up a plan to continue his rehab on the road, rather than at the Giants’ facilities in San Francisco or Arizona, as is usually the case. La Stella, whose test results the Giants have declined to share, will begin a rehab assignment this weekend. He hasn’t appeared in a game — or been with the team — since July 7, the day before he was placed on the COVID list.
