When Joplin lived in the Edwardian building, her flat was the topmost unit and a favorite visiting and partying location for music’s illuminati.Jacob Dudley, Open Homes Photography Co-listing agent Ric Rocchiccioli of Compass is also a resident of the building and one of the owners of Joplin’s former home. “We, the owners of the upper unit in the building , met the group Jefferson Starship a few years ago in an airport and struck up a conversation with them. They noted they had partied in our flat back in the day when Janis lived there,” Rocchiccioli told SFGATE.
Below this historic scene is 1949 Pine, the middle flat in this property, which is for sale. Joplin’s proximity is only part of the history: The building itself dates back to 1906. Inside are three bedrooms and 1.5 baths, with 2,163 square feet of living space.
