A Golden Gate Ferry sailing from Larkspur to San Francisco had to turn around and return to its departure terminal after storm conditions prevented it from docking at the Ferry Building.

Paolo Cosulich-Schwartz, a spokesperson with Golden Gate Ferry, told SFGATE that the ferry's captain attempted to dock at the Ferry Building in San Francisco for about 10 minutes before determining it was too dangerous to continue. Cosulich-Schwartz said the captain reported wind speeds of roughly 50 mph and observed"rolling waves" up to 7 feet high in front of the Ferry Building, and said that some waves were washing over the terminal pier.
The ferry departed Larkspur at 3:15 p.m. and returned at 4:30 p.m. There were 16 passengers aboard the ferry; Cosulich-Schwartz said Golden Gate Ferry chartered a bus for passengers who wished to continue their trip to San Francisco. A who was apparently aboard the ferry reported that some passengers became seasick, and said ferry staff handed out water bottles to riders.
