January is Human Trafficking Prevention Month, and Trusa emphasizes the importance of talking about these issues to normalize them and break the cycle of transgenerational trauma.

"He forced me to drink a bottle of whiskey at the age of nine," Trusa recalled. "Non-stop. I could have died just from the alcohol poison.""I went to the bathroom, and I just crumbled," she said. "It's like there's a normalization of sex trafficking and sexual abuse because we don't talk about it," Trusa acknowledged.
