The number of sexual offences reported to the force has almost tripled since records began in 2003
Herts Police has said victims having more confidence to report incidents could have contributed to the rise.
A spokesperson said: “Hertfordshire Constabulary takes all reports of sexual assault seriously, no matter what the circumstances are. Being a victim of sexual assault is NEVER your fault. We take all reports seriously, no matter what the circumstances or how long ago the offence occurred and have specialist officers on hand to provide support and advice.
