The Utah Sheriff's Association and all 29 sheriff's offices across Utah rolled out their "Something Worth Choosing" campaign in hopes of encouraging others to consider a career in law enforcement.

“We have a continual open process here at Utah County,” said Utah County Sheriff Mike Smith. “We’re down over 20 deputies at Utah County alone so we have open enrollment for testing and applications, and you’ll see that across the state.”The number of available jobs and careers“It is a job of service, so if you feel that inside that you can do that; you feel that draw towards law enforcement we’d like you to come and apply,” said Smith.

“She’s able to connect with people that some of the other deputies can’t,” said Sevier County Sheriff Nathan Curtis. “She wasn’t given the best foundation, but she knew what her dreams were and what she wanted to do.” Meacham-Callioux recommends others try their hand at a career in law enforcement and making a difference in their community.“I can relate to people who are going through a hard time and be like, hey, I’ve been there, it’s just a speed bump, lets get you through this,” said Meacham-Callioux. “This department has been amazing to me, I’ve gained a village in this and it helps me every day to see the light at the end of the tunnel, it’s not all bad.
