MANILA, Philippines — Intensifying into a severe tropical storm, 'Bebinca' (international name) is predicted to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Friday night as a typhoon, the state-run weather agency said on Thursday.
MANILA, Philippines — Intensifying into a severe tropical storm, 'Bebinca' is predicted to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Friday night as a typhoon, the state-run weather agency said on Thursday.Estimated some 1, 975 kilometers east of Central Luzon, the trough of the severe tropical storm is affecting particularly the eastern sections of Luzon and Visayas, weather specialist Benison Estareja said.
'Bebinca is expected to develop into a typhoon while still outside PAR and once inside, it would be named 'Ferdie,' the 6th storm to hit the country this year, the Pagasa forecaster said.Meanwhile, Bebinca has been enhancing the southwest monsoon or'habagat' and the rest of Visayas and Mindanao.The same enhanced weather system is also affecting the rest of Mimaropa and Calabarzon where isolated rain showers or thunderstorms would be likely.
