Coffee County didn’t fare any better with at least two dozen trees tumbling due to winds that appeared to reach near or possibly above 60-miles-per hour. “We’re still getting calls,” Coffee County EMA Director said at 9:30 p.m. He urged drivers to stay off the roads for non-essential travel because of debris on the roadway. He requested unless a true emergency callers should report issues should use the non-emergency phone number which are 334-894-0207 in Coffee County and 334-347-2222 for those requesting service in Enterprise. Lyons said the number of power outages in Coffee County had dwindled from about 1,000 to 300 as of 9:30 p.m. The bad weather was not unexpected as Chief Meteorologist David Paul and the News4 First Alert Team had declared this afternoon and evening a First Alert Weather Day. In Dothan, multiple fires were reported as a severe thunderstorm moved across the city. One was reported in the Chapelwood neighborhood and another an outdoor fire along Woodham Road.
