Despite restoration efforts, hundreds of customers remain without electricity. Additionally, police are investigating a fatal shooting in North Columbus.

Severe thunderstorms moving through central Ohio on Saturday afternoon have impacted thousands of resident's electricity, particularly in Pickaway and Fairfield counties. According to South Central Power’s outage data, Pickaway County was the hardest hit, with approximately 1,600 customers currently without electricity.

This marks a significant improvement from earlier in the afternoon when outages peaked at roughly 2,400, representing 12% of the utility's meters in the county. In Fairfield County, crews have also made progress. Outages dropped to 455 by mid-afternoon, down from a high of over 600 shortly after the storms passed.
