After a quiet start, a major severe weather event could unfold across Texas Wednesday afternoon and evening.
After dry, warm and partly sunny weather over the past couple of days, rain chances will move back into South Texas on Wednesday. Not only rain is rain expected, but many parts of Texas could see large, damaging hail. After a relatively quiet start to the day, South Texas ' severe weather threat will increase during the afternoon and evening. Here’s a look at what to expect for your Wednesday.
Hail will be the main threat, but an isolated tornado or two is also possible. A second round of strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible late at night, between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m. Once again, large hail and damaging winds will be the main concern with these storms. Isolated flooding will also be possible across South Texas. San Antonio is under a Level 1 of 5 risk of severe thunderstorms, according to the Storm Prediction Center.
