A severe storm system in Missouri and Kansas produced hail as big as baseballs, causing damage and prompting warnings from the National Weather Service. The storm was accompanied by strong winds and affected several counties in the region.
Hail as big as baseballs pounded parts of Missouri and Kansas on Wednesday night, as a severe storm system lashed through the Midwestern states. “This storm IS PRODUCING BASEBALL SIZE HAIL. Get away from windows and shelter inside now!!!” the National Weather Service in Kansas City said, as a thunderstorm warning was issued to 38 counties from eastern Kansas to central Missouri , where large hail and wind damage were cited as the primary threats.
