Kingwood girls take second by one stroke over The Woodlands in girls 6A team competition

The Mustangs, making their sixth consecutive state appearance, finished five strokes behind Vandegrift.
Against small greens and a course that played different than last year due to slickness caused by a recent bout of rain, Kingwood thrived. Senior Morgan Ankenbrandt tied for 17th. Sophomore Khloe Jones tied for 24th. Freshman Mariana Hernandez tied for 24th. Willis said it was around the middle of this season that she saw her girls take accountability of practices and play.
