The Spartans enter the regular season finale more likely to be one of those lower seeds no one wants to face in the postseason. "For us to be healthy and on the floor, it's coming around at a good time of the year," Seven Lakes coach Angela Spurlock said."I'm excited. I'm really proud, because I've been waiting a long time, as have we all. This team has waited to watch the culmination of their work. They've waited a long time to watch the culmination of their patience, and their will to not give up.
Seven Lakes improved to 19-13 overall and 10-5 in District 19-6A with its biggest win of the season, giving first-place Katy its first district loss, 58-39 on Friday. The win left the Spartans tied with Cinco Ranch for third place, both one game ahead of Katy Taylor. The Spartans play at Cinco Ranch Tuesday with the No. 3 playoff seed on the line. Seven Lakes won the first matchup 63-49. The Spartans split the season series with Taylor, which could catch Seven Lakes with a win at Katy and a loss by the Spartans. Cinco Ranch holds the head-to-head tiebreaker with the Mustangs.
