The Spartans joined Taylor as bracket champions from host district Katy ISD.
While they improved to 5-0-0, it was a welcome victory for the Spartans, who lost on penalty kicks to Lake Travis last year and had not won their I-10 bracket in at least five years. The 2021 tournament did not include an official champion.
The Spartans faced another test in the final, with Cy Woods getting through George Ranch 2-0 and Memorial 3-1 earlier in the tournament. The championship match proved competitive. Seven Lakes had four corner kicks in the half, capitalizing on the last. Cy Woods spent more time on attack in the second half, ultimately outshooting the Spartans. But two corners and three free kicks could not yield a dangerous ball on net.
