SABAH Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) has restored a cable servicing a home in a Papar village and is monitoring the supply to a Telipok neighbourhood and some Manggatal apartments.

This follows feedback about the safety hazards posed by the live wire which had been lying on the grass beside the premises in Kg Manggis, as well as the inconvenience caused by the blackouts at the latter residential properties. The affected consumers provided Hotline with the pertinent information regarding their grievances, including the time and date when these irregularities occurred, which was forwarded to the company.

From the bits of bark caught in the service line, the company’s personnel surmised that the trees must have toppled onto the cable causing it to come away from its housing.”“The necessary action was taken on the spot. Our technicians reattached the cable to another side of the roof to minimise the likelihood of this problem recurring in future.”

He said the company had two standby teams in the district which operated round the clock on eight hour shifts. At the time that he contacted Hotline, Roslee said the firm’s personnel had yet to show up at his house. “We are in the process of identifying what gave rise to this problem and are taking the necessary steps to prevent this from happening in future,” she said.
