Discovery announced a shift away from children\'s programming on its streaming platform Max, according to several reports released in early December. , the long-running show will remain on the streaming site until 2027, but Warner Bros. Discovery has decided to end a 2015 agreement with production company Sesame Workshop and HBO and Max. Warner Bros. Discovery officials told several outlets it\'s changing its business strategy with Max to focus on more adult and family content. \'Sesame Street\' has been on the air since the late 1960s as the show followed Elmo, Big Bird, Grover, Cookie Monster, Zoe, and many other vibrant characters as they teach children math, reading, and more.to air on the channel with episodes later appearing for free on PBS, which solely broadcasted the show for decades. Per Variety, the show aired on HBO from 2016 to 2020, with Sesame Street striking a five-year deal in 2019 to move the show to HBO Max, which later changed to Max. It\'s unclear if any other streaming network will pick up the show, though Amazon Prime, Apple TV, and Netflix are all possibilities according to The Times
