The state deputy police chief presided over the 216th Police Day, where 167 officers, staff and members of the public received certificates.
However, instead of joining the army, the 25-year-old opted for a career with the Royal Malaysian Police.
Muhamad Fikri has been a cop for four years now and is currently attached to the state police Criminal Investigation Department. He spent about 20 years of his career in Sabah and Sarawak before being posted to his home state of Johor in 2006.
