The Snake Pass has now reopened
Drivers are facing disruption this Bank Holiday Sunday after a crash on a major road into Manchester.
The A57, known as Snake Pass, is closed in both directions between Hurst Road and A6013 due to the incident. There are reports of two separate crashes, with the air ambulance reportedly in attendance. Traffic is reportedly being turned back as the road remains closed.Snake Pass is the road between Manchester and Sheffield. The incident is understood to be affecting traffic between Glossop, Bamford and Sheffield.A57 Snake Pass has reopened in both directions after an earlier accident has cleared, according to Inrix.
